I graduated with a degree in accounting and spent approximately 3 years in the field. As an accountant, I worked in the fuel and hospitality industry and the trucking industry. I then took a position in the retail industry. I have been working as a financial analyst for the last 2+ years.
In my experiences and leadership roles that I have held, I have noticed a specific need within our country and in the areas in which I have lived. As the economy as been sluggish and unpredictable, many Americans have found themselves in situations they weren't prepared for. Budgeting and personal finance, I believe, are areas that are often overlooked in the education system. As habits are tough to change, learning to budget when one is not accustomed to it is very difficult to change and automatically begin the process.
